Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Art Program Coordinator to join our team at the Metro YMCA of the Oranges. As an Art Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for designing and delivering a variety of art programs for children in a seasonal day camp setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Plan, set up, and deliver a range of art activities that are age-specific and engaging for children.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Lead art activities with the assistance of counselors and help keep them focused on the activity.
  • Supply Management: Control all art supply inventory used in the program and assist the Camp Director with ordering supplies.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with other counselors to bring about quality programming in the art specialty area.
  • Camper Engagement: Greet campers with a smile, learn their names, and respond to their needs.
  • Safety and Risk Management: Uphold camp safety standards, maintain constant face counts, and practice risk management and disaster policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma, Associate/Bachelor's Degree in Education, youth work, recreation, or a related field.
  • Experience: Two years' experience teaching, youth work, recreation, or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to relate to children, and positive behavior management techniques.
