Diagnostic Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Patient First in Downingtown, PA.
About the Role:This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in medical laboratory procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Specimen Collection and Processing: Follow established laboratory procedures for specimen collection, handling, processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining accurate records of test results.
- Quality Control and Maintenance: Document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
- Test Performance and Reporting: Identify indicators that may impact test performance or reporting of test results and make corrections or notify the Lab Supervisor as needed.
- Laboratory Stock Management: Order, receive, and distribute laboratory stock as needed in the laboratory and treatment area.
- Teamwork and Communication: Understand checklists and perform all duties associated with the position while fostering teamwork and providing positive, warm, and friendly customer service in all interactions.
- Adherence to Safety Policies: Adhere to safety policies defined by Patient First and OSHA.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- At least 18 years of age.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Keyboarding experience required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- One year of clerical experience preferred.
- One year of clinical experience preferred.
- Minimum 60 semester hours from a regionally accredited college, including chemistry, biology, and medical laboratory techniques, or an Associate degree in chemistry, biology, or related science.
- Completion of clinical rotations in microbiology, urinalysis, chemistry, and hematology.
- Registered Medical Technologists (M.T.) or Medical Laboratory Technicians (M.L.T.) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or other recognized certification agency of medical laboratory professionals preferred.
- Registry-eligible technologists encouraged to apply.
The ideal candidate must be willing to relocate to Downingtown, PA 19335 before starting work.
