Position Overview:
The Physical Therapist is responsible for the management of rehabilitation services for members, operating under the guidance of the Rehabilitation Manager.

This role emphasizes adherence to compliance standards and the Principles of Responsibility, ensuring the confidentiality of member information, safeguarding organizational assets, and acting with integrity. It is crucial to report any non-compliance and to follow all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.

Regional leadership is tasked with the effective communication and enforcement of compliance policies within their departments.

In addition to technical skills, this position requires a commitment to exemplary service behaviors as outlined in the Kaiser Permanente Service Quality Credo and the organization's mission, alongside specific departmental initiatives.

The Physical Therapist must demonstrate the necessary knowledge, skills, and cultural sensitivity to provide outstanding service to members, families, and other stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities:
+ Conduct assessments to evaluate members' impairments and functional limitations, ensuring appropriate treatment through various evaluation methods. + Develop and implement therapy programs, setting treatment objectives to enhance member participation in daily activities and minimize disabilities through diverse therapeutic approaches. + Deliver direct care to members using various modalities, including in-person, telephonic, and video consultations. + Engage members, families, and caregivers in goal-setting and obtain informed consent as required. + Provide treatment plans and home exercise instructions to members and their families. + Continuously update treatment plans based on member progress. + Regularly monitor clinical signs to assess treatment effectiveness and make necessary adjustments. + Discharge members from therapy upon achieving maximum therapeutic benefit. + Maintain accurate and timely documentation of member care. + Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants in accordance with jurisdictional requirements. + Ensure compliance with medical record standards and maintain a safe work environment. + Uphold clinical competency and ethical standards as per APTA guidelines. + Manage departmental supplies and equipment, ensuring they are clean and functional. + Guide support staff in routine procedures as needed. + Foster positive relationships with members and colleagues. + Provide triage services through various communication methods. + Collaborate with senior therapists and management in developing new services and educational materials. + Offer coverage in other facilities as necessary. + Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Experience + A minimum of one (1) year of full-time practice as a licensed Physical Therapist in a clinical environment is required.

Education + Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program with a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree is required.

License, Certification, Registration + Credentials from multiple states are necessary. Primary state credentials must be obtained prior to hire, with additional credentials required post-hire. + Physical Therapist License (Virginia) within 6 months of hire + Physical Therapy Direct Access Certification (Virginia) within 6 months of hire + Physical Therapist License (District of Columbia) within 6 months of hire + Physical Therapist License (Maryland) within 6 months of hire + PECOS Enrollment within 1 month of hire + Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association +

Additional Requirements:
+ Active engagement in continuing education or clinical experience to enhance expertise, including post-graduate education or specialized training. + Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills in clinical settings. + Evidence of involvement in staff development and mentoring.

Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience in teaching health education classes related to physical therapy. + Participation in community outreach and member education initiatives at least twice a year. + Proficiency in at least 50% of physical therapy clinical competencies.
