Job Overview

The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio showcasing previous design projects, with proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or other design software.

We are looking for an Interior Designer to join our team at GY Properties, a U.S. real estate company headquartered in Philadelphia, PA, specializing in acquisition, development, construction and in-house management of multifamily residential properties and high-end residential condominiums.

The successful candidate will play a key role in creating inviting and functional spaces for our residential properties, collaborating with stakeholders, developing design concepts, and overseeing the implementation of interior design projects.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Design of common areas such as gyms, lobbies, game rooms, community rooms, leasing offices, and model units, including furniture, lights, appliances, and all finish materials (tile, colors, flooring, cabinets, countertops, etc.).
  • Design of units after renovations, including furniture, lights, appliances, and all materials (tile, colors, cabinets, flooring, countertops, etc.).
  • Design of exterior areas such as BBQ areas, pool areas, riverfronts, and dog parks.
  • Conducting plans with measurements and using CAD or other software.
  • Digital design capabilities such as 3D floor plans, website, and social media are an advantage.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements.
  • Develop interior design concepts that align with project goals.
  • Create mood boards, color palettes, and material selections.
  • Produce detailed drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors.
  • Oversee project implementation to ensure design intent is achieved.
  • Conduct site visits and address any design issues that arise.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree, working towards a bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1 year previous interior design work or internship experience.
  • Experience using interior design software.
  • Social media experience is a plus.
  • Ability to upload a portfolio of work.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative thinking with the ability to suggest improvements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and integrity.
