Position Overview

This full-time on-site position for an Electro Mechanical Engineer at Phiston Technologies involves a range of electrical and mechanical engineering responsibilities. The successful candidate will analyze data and engage with electromechanical systems, contributing significantly to the design, development, testing, and enhancement of both new and existing products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop 3D models and produce precise, detailed 2D drawings for mechanical and electrical components and assemblies using SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM, adhering to Phiston Technologies' design standards.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Manufacturing leadership on new designs and modifications to existing drawings through an Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process.
  • Design and implement machine programs utilizing automation software and custom coding languages.
  • Ensure that product designs meet engineering drawing standards (ISO/ANSI) for manufacturability, including comprehensive tolerance schemes in both Imperial and SI units.
  • Maintain up-to-date revision levels for all engineering drawings.
  • Possess a solid understanding of sheet metal design, electronic packaging, material evaluation and selection, reliability, mechanism design, instrument design, and automation.
  • Create electrical schematics, interconnect diagrams, and wire harness designs.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of test equipment and tool design.
  • Oversee the creation of Bills of Materials (BOM) and component specifications.
  • Foster a safe working environment by adhering to proper PPE usage, reporting incidents, and participating in departmental safety meetings.
  • Exhibit exceptional communication skills, capable of drafting proposals, test plans, and procedural documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with SolidWorks.
  • At least 5 years of experience in PLC programming.
  • Proficient in both Electrical and Mechanical Engineering principles.
  • Experience with electromechanical systems and electrical principles.
  • Strong analytical skills for effective data analysis and problem resolution.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations pertaining to data security.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a collaborative work ethic.
