Position Summary

We are currently seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to become a vital member of our outpatient team at the Zalik Behavioral and Mental Health Center. In this role, you will deliver holistic care and expert consultation as a primary mental health provider at an advanced practice level, focusing on children and their families. Your responsibilities will encompass assessment, effective communication, clinical management, collaboration, coordination, education, program development, research, self-evaluation, professional growth, and active participation in system initiatives. PMHNPs will offer a comprehensive array of services, from mental health promotion to rehabilitation for mental illnesses.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in nursing.
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Georgia or through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in Georgia.
  • Current certification as a PMHCNS-BC/PMHNP-BC by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.

Preferred Experience

  • Two years of experience in pediatric mental health nursing.
  • Experience in program development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a comprehensive range of patient care management within a collaborative practice model, including psychotherapy, clinical supervision, consultation, and liaison services.
  • Provide culturally sensitive care that adheres to state regulations and standards of practice defined by certifying agencies.
  • Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate care for pediatric patients in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
  • Actively work to eliminate communication barriers and participate as a key member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Serve as an educational resource for patients, families, healthcare professionals, and the community regarding your clinical specialty.
  • Engage in the identification and development of programs within your clinical specialty at various levels as required.
  • Utilize research to explore and evaluate innovative healthcare approaches aimed at improving patient and family outcomes.
  • Commit to continuous professional development and self-evaluation of advanced nursing practice skills.

Work Schedule

Day shifts, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
