Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in drafting and filing legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all pertinent documents are properly stored.
- Conduct legal research and summarize relevant case law, statutes, and regulations.
- Prepare trial materials, including exhibits and witness lists.
- Coordinate with clients and opposing counsel on case-related matters, including scheduling and discovery.
- Manage attorneys' calendars, deadlines, and appointments.
- Attend meetings and court proceedings, taking detailed notes.
- Provide general administrative support, including answering phones and scheduling appointments.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a legal assistant, preferably in commercial litigation.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and legal research tools.
- Capability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
