Key Responsibilities- Provide High-Quality Patient Care
- Assist physicians with examinations and procedures to ensure the medical needs of patients are met in a professional, confidential, and caring manner.
- Coordinate the flow of patients, phone calls, lab work, and nurse visits to facilitate quality patient care and customer service goals.
- Coordinate Patient Flow
- Maintain the flow of patients in accordance with appointment times to avoid delays for the provider and undue waiting for patients.
- Document Patient Information
- Collect subjective and objective data and contribute to the assessment of the patient; document appropriately in the patient chart.
- Make accurate and timely observations and document changes in the patient's condition in the patient chart.
- Communicate with Patients and Healthcare Providers
- Retrieve messages and respond to calls from patients, pharmacies, hospitals, nursing homes, and other medical offices in a timely manner as delegated by licensed healthcare providers.
- Assist with Examinations and Procedures
- Assist the medical provider with all examinations and procedures.
- Maintain a Clean and Organized Environment
- Keep the exam rooms clean, disinfected, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Schedule Follow-up Appointments
- Schedule follow-up procedures/appointments and specialty appointments.
- Provide Patient Education
- Explain tests and preparation as needed for adequate patient education.
- Monitor Inventory and Supplies
- Monitor inventory of supplies and communicate information to the Office Manager.
- Perform Administrative Tasks
- Administer injections, vital signs, vision, and auditory testing as delegated.
- Perform other related projects and duties as assigned.
- Education and Experience
- Graduation from an accredited professional nursing program required.
- Current Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state of residence as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act required.
