We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach a combined class of Statics and Strength of Materials hybrid course for Mechanical, Civil, and Architectural students.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing curricula, instructing assigned courses, and evaluating student learning. The instructor will also be expected to foster student success and promote a positive learning environment.
Responsibilities:- Plan, organize, and instruct courses as assigned by the Department Chairperson/supervisor.
- Demonstrate sound practices in instruction and classroom management that respond to students' diverse academic needs.
- Follow the prescribed course outline and use texts selected by the department.
- Provide instruction according to the class meeting schedule and instructional hours established for the session.
- Assist students toward the successful completion of course(s) that the instructor is teaching.
- Maintain adequate and timely student records.
- Evaluate and report students' progress and attendance in a timely manner.
- Encourage students to complete the course evaluation form and review course evaluation summaries.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Four (4) years of relevant experience.
The instructor will work in a dynamic and diverse community, interacting with students, faculty, and staff. The instructor will be expected to work effectively in a multicultural environment and meet the needs of diverse student populations.
