Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center. As an MRI Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Radiology department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately identify and transport patients to and from MRI procedures
  • Prepare patients and scan rooms for MRI procedures, completing required consents and checklists as needed
  • Perform venipuncture on patients of all ages
  • Assist with scheduling of MRI exams and review MRI protocols with radiologists
  • Respond to telephone inquiries and provide accurate information to customers of all age groups
  • Ensure the safety of all persons entering MRI and instruct others on MRI safety policies and procedures
  • Perform Radiology Information System (RIS) and Hospital Information System (HIS) functions, ensuring proper billing for MRI exams
  • Complete MRI-related clerical functions and PACS functions, saving, verifying, and performing all image manipulation on PACS for each patient scanned
Requirements
  • Credentialing in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Credentialing in Magnetic Resonance by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or board eligibility, with completion of boards within 12 months of hire date
  • Demonstrated competencies as a Diagnostic Radiographer, with previous MR or CT experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and/or speak English
  • Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintenance of current status
  • Proof of Mandatory Reporting for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse training prior to employment or within 6 months of hire and maintenance of current status per State of Iowa guidelines
