Job Summary

The Agency of Transportation is seeking a skilled Transportation Operations Technician II to join our team. This role is responsible for various tasks related to highway maintenance, including repairing guardrails, cutting trees/brush, patching roads, picking litter, ditching, and more. In the winter months, this position will also assist with plowing and salting, and overtime may be required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform various tasks related to highway maintenance, including repairing guardrails, cutting trees/brush, patching roads, picking litter, and ditching.
  • Assist with plowing and salting in the winter months.
  • Perform equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Operate medium or heavy equipment, such as graders, excavators, and backhoes.
  • Participate in a random drug and alcohol-testing program.
Requirements
  • One (1) year of work experience in construction, equipment operation, or related manual labor.
  • Either one season of operating a snowplow with wings or six (6) months of operating medium or heavy equipment.
  • Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker endorsement required within six months of employment.
  • Ability to withstand exposure to extreme outdoor weather.
  • Ability to lift materials commonly used in maintenance work.
