Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing technical expertise in the implementation and enhancement of biomedical systems used at NYC Health + Hospitals. The selected individual will be responsible for integrating biomedical systems with Epic, ensuring seamless functionality and optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and integrate biomedical systems with Epic, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance.
  • Test and validate new biomedical devices and integration technology to ensure seamless functionality.
  • Configure biomedical systems middleware to interface with Epic using required middleware.
  • Resolve integration problems with biomedical applications and Epic.
  • Contribute to the testing effort for biomedical systems implementation.
  • Design and implement a configuration that supports high availability and disaster recovery across our two data centers.
  • Ensure that changes implemented are managed and documented, including software test plans, technical requirements, release notes, user and training guidelines, and other materials.
  • Perform application support functions, including problem-solving and resolution of application function defects, and arrange for systems and application training.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to coordinate activities.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree or advanced clinical degree from an accredited college or university; or
  • A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of experience gathering and documenting business, clinical, and/or functional requirements for software applications development and implementation in a clinical, allied health, non-allied health, behavioral health, information technology, information services, business, analytics, or related area; or
  • One (1) year of experience in a relevant clinical and/or healthcare administration role/function; or
  • A satisfactory combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Specialty certification(s) issued by a national commercially available program, state, professional society, academic, or technical institution in an area(s) listed above, may be credited on a month-to-month basis toward the required work experience for a total of one (1) year.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Good knowledge of computer and communications hardware capabilities and utilization, clinical applications, programming languages, systems, and programming methodology, database management, and information retrieval techniques.
  • One-year experience in the integration of biomedical systems and electronic medical record systems, preferably with Epic.

Special Equipment/Machines Operated

  • General Office equipment (computer, scanner, printer, phones)
  • Experience with bedside monitoring devices, ventilators, anesthesia machines, ultrasound machines, etc.
