Position Overview:
Under general oversight, the Food Service Operations Associate executes a range of food service responsibilities.
Work Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours per week
Shift Assignments: 6:30am-3:00pm, 7:00am-3:30pm, 8:00am-4:30pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Acquire food and/or supplies from the storage area.
- Deliver and present meal trays to patients using identification protocols.
- Maintain stock levels and cleanliness.
- Resolve customer service challenges independently.
- Conduct accurate cash and credit transactions in line with corporate standards.
- Balance and reconcile cash drawers.
- Familiarize yourself with the menu, portion sizes, and pricing prior to meal service to ensure effective customer service, including addressing inquiries and serving food.
- Organize and manage catered events according to specified service levels.- Perform food preparation tasks (adhering to standard recipes and assembling ingredients), such as preparing salads, sandwiches, vegetables, and fruits.
- Understand and prepare modified diets using appropriate techniques.
- Maintain a well-organized and sanitary work environment.
- Ensure proper production quantities with appropriate product rotation.
- Execute housekeeping tasks including cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, floor maintenance, and equipment care (oven, fryer, hoods).
- Adhere to HACCP standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Food Handler's Permit (as mandated by local regulations).
- Proven excellent customer service abilities.
- Demonstrated capability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Competence in following instructions.
- Skill in managing problems and challenging situations.
- Basic mathematical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of experience in food service or cashier roles.
- Experience in hospital food service settings.
Physical Requirements:
- Engage with patients and colleagues, necessitating verbal communication and comprehension of spoken information.
- Operate food service equipment or computers, requiring dexterity of fingers and hands.
- Ability to see and read labels, monitors, and documents.
- Carry, push/pull, and walk while transporting food, supplies, and service equipment.
- Climb, squat, kneel, and lift to clean equipment and access food and supplies.
- Stand for extended periods to perform duties.
- Tolerate temperature extremes, such as working at a grill or in a refrigerator, and withstand exposure to cleaning chemicals.
Compensation:
The hourly range for this position is competitive and based on experience.
