Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with the Maintenance Department to troubleshoot and optimize mechanical and hydraulic systems across the facility.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to plant equipment, resulting in improved performance and efficiency.
  • Expertise in Large Baghouse Systems: Ensure smooth operations and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Project Management: Prepare detailed specifications for project bids, evaluate contractors, and negotiate contracts.
  • Project Oversight: Estimate, schedule, and oversee projects to ensure timely, on-budget completion.
  • Stakeholder Management: Interface with contractors, equipment suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Specialized Projects: Assist the Director of Steelmaking Technology on specialized projects and initiatives.
  • Leadership: Lead various projects, including potential travel both locally and internationally.
  • Safety and Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to all safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Team Collaboration: Foster collaboration and teamwork, working effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Performance and Attendance: Ensure consistent attendance and performance, taking on additional responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong background in the steel or heavy industry. Environmental experience is a plus.
