Floor Operations Manager

The Floor Supervisor at Westlake Ace Hardware is a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our stores. This position reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for managing all aspects of store operations in their absence. Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

  • Project a positive representation of Westlake Ace Hardware at all times.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Stay knowledgeable about products, services, and store promotions to provide informed recommendations to customers.
  • Handle customer complaints in a fair and respectful manner.

Store Operations:

  • Ensure a safe and clean store environment, including the sales floor, stockroom, and outdoor merchandise areas.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of sales associates and other store personnel to achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures, including securing the store, counting cash, and reconciling daily sales reports.
  • Work with the General Manager and Assistant Managers to implement company initiatives and programs.
  • Monitor and maintain store inventory levels, including ordering merchandise and reporting stock discrepancies.

Inventory and Merchandising:

  • Assist with receiving and stocking merchandise, including unloading shipments and organizing product displays.
  • Help maintain a clean and organized sales floor, including end caps and promotional displays.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Manager-Merchandising to plan and execute visual merchandising displays.
  • Participate in weekly price changes and label updates to ensure accurate pricing and signage.

Leadership:

  • Lead and motivate sales associates to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service.
  • Provide coaching, training, and feedback to sales associates to improve performance and skills.
  • Participate in store meetings and contribute to discussions on store operations, customer service, and sales strategies.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and Assistant Managers to develop and implement store goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of retail experience, preferably in a supervisory or management role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
