Cash Management: Business Analyst

Job Description:

The Business Analyst will be a key member of the Cash Management group within Corporate Banking at SMBC. This role will involve performing business analysis of data information within the existing system, as well as identifying future capabilities and offerings that support the bank's new Cash Management Initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resolves or assists in the resolution of conflicts within and between functional areas and implements changes where appropriate.
  • Collaborates to define and design scope for each program epics and features.
  • Performs analysis and design around the business requirements and specifications.
  • Ensures client perspective and input is leveraged in design of analytics developed for client use.
  • Reviews the use feature and stories around enhancements for application changes.
  • Works within cross-functional agile teams with developers, product owners, and testers.
  • Helps define acceptance criteria and scope of feature testing.
  • Documents and writes business stories, defines interface requirements, workflows, and presentations.

Interpersonal Skills:

The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. They will be able to work closely with colleagues in the treasury and cash management product development ecosystem to clarify questions around product features and customer value proposition.

Expertise:

The Business Analyst will require strong business and data analysis skills, as well as the ability to put the customer at the driving force in all work delivered. They will also need to have experience working in an environment where adherence to banking compliance and regulatory standards is essential.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Recommended years of experience: 3
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for services provided to corporate customers.
  • Ability to develop insights into future use cases for clients based on data needed today, as well as available data in the future.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to write and communicate requirements to business and technology partners.
  • Ability to influence people outside the immediate span of control, including business users, other staff, and vendors.
  • Ability to read and interpret log files and data.

Work Environment:
