Job Summary

Bridgford Foods is seeking a seasoned Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager to lead our team in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality in our processed meats manufacturing plant.

This is a critical role that requires a strong leader with experience in developing and implementing food safety and quality systems, as well as a proven track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of HACCP principles, SQF Quality Code, and regulatory requirements, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement food safety and quality systems, including HACCP plans and sanitation procedures
  • Lead the FSQA team and provide coaching and training to ensure team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to meet food safety and quality standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements
  • Manage relationships with regulatory agencies, including USDA FSIS, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations
  • Develop and maintain processes to trend progress in food safety and quality performance against benchmarks

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in food safety and quality assurance in the meat and poultry industry
  • Associate degree or higher in a relevant field, such as food science, microbiology, or meat science
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of management and team members
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
  • Certified in HACCP and SQF Quality Code
