Senior Process Engineer - Ethanol (Hybrid/Remote)

This role specializes in Ethanol processing equipment and operations, serving as a subject-matter expert for our Ethanol or Chemical processing facility clients and internal design teams as necessary.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Act as the subject-matter expert and primary contact for clients in your areas of expertise.
  • Develop technical reports, procurement specifications, and design sketches.
  • Evaluate technical proposals from equipment vendors, providing bid tab comparisons and recommendations.
  • Research and articulate client needs to ensure their expectations for process optimization and enhancements are met.
  • Organize and facilitate internal and external coordination meetings (with clients and equipment suppliers) as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, equipment vendors, controls installers, and other stakeholders regarding process equipment design, installation, and operation.
  • Manage the budget assigned to you closely; identify and prepare requests for additional services as needed.
  • Oversee your work schedule proactively; communicate any potential delays to the VAA project manager.
  • Keep the VAA Project Manager and Principal-In-Charge updated on your work progress, challenges, and successes.
  • Mentor and train VAA engineers and technical staff when requested.
  • Exhibit leadership through excellent engineering analysis and judgment, providing timely and appropriate results to clients.
  • Conduct site visits as required.
Your Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Technology.
  • Over 8 years of experience in the design and construction of ethanol facilities and processes.
  • Proven experience with ethanol processing equipment and operations is essential.
  • Consulting engineering experience is preferred.
