Job Summary

An Assistant Engineer II at The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is responsible for designing and developing water treatment facilities and systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering and experience with process design, mechanical equipment sizing, and construction delivery methods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform process design calculations for chemical feed systems, including ozone, sulfuric acid, and polymers.
  • Develop design criteria and standards for water treatment facilities and systems.
  • Prepare process flow diagrams, mechanical design drawings, and specifications for water treatment facilities and systems.
  • Provide engineering support during construction, testing, commissioning, and startup.
  • Assist in investigations of existing facilities, structures, processes, and equipment to resolve performance, operational, or reliability issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Two years of relevant experience, including two years at the Assistant Engineer I level.
  • Valid California Class C Driver's License or equivalent.
