About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Developer to join our team at the City of New York. As a key member of our Information Technology Services (ITS) organization, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing complex applications that support our Homecare program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop complex applications using object-oriented languages such as ASP.NET, C#.Net, and SQL databases.
  • Communicate with users and stakeholders to specify objectives for the proper planning and development of new systems.
  • Participate in ongoing maintenance and support for multiple systems for the Homecare program intake, case management, and billing operations.
  • Provide technical consultation and expertise by presenting detailed technical recommendations.
  • Support the rewrite of older applications into web-based applications to comply with new technology requirements and ITS/Business Solutions development standards.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, including or supplemented by twenty-four semester credits in computer science or a related computer field.
  • Two years of satisfactory full-time software experience in designing, programming, debugging, maintaining, implementing, and enhancing computer software applications, systems programming, systems analysis and design, data communication software, or database design and programming.
  • One year of experience in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project.
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with ASP.NET, AngularJS, jQuery, Web API, Web Services, XML, XSL, XSLT & SOAP, JSON, C#, REACT.
  • Functional knowledge of HTML5, JavaScript, and object-oriented coding methodologies.
  • Hands-on web-based application development experience using MVC.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft.Net Core and SQL Server SSIS Package.
  • Demonstrated understanding of different software development life-cycle methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with relational SQL Server database design and implementation.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Reporting Services.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
