The role of the Speech-Language Pathologist within an educational environment encompasses the evaluation of students and the provision of therapeutic services tailored to individual needs, adhering to the established care plans and directives from healthcare providers.

Position Overview:

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Work Mode: In-person only (No remote or hybrid options)
Caseload: Engaging with elementary or secondary students, managing a caseload of 48-55 students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments of students' communication abilities, including articulation, fluency, voice, and both expressive and receptive language skills, to identify communication challenges and determine eligibility for services.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to effectively communicate information, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with established protocols.
  • Facilitate meetings and processes for eligible students, including testing, IEPs, and parent conferences, to present evaluation findings and develop treatment strategies.
  • Create and implement treatment plans and educational resources aimed at reducing the impact of communication disorders, in line with regulatory standards.
  • Instruct students on the use of assistive communication technologies, such as hearing aids and augmentative communication devices.
  • Maintain comprehensive records, including progress reports and treatment documentation, to track student progress and compliance.
  • Engage in professional development through meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Deliver speech and language therapy to students, aiming to enhance their communication skills and overall academic success.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Active Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Licensure in the relevant state is mandatory.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
  • Adhere to all professional standards of practice.
  • Completion of any required competency programs.
  • Current CPR certification, if applicable.
  • Compliance with health screening requirements.
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in English are essential.
  • Proficiency in computer usage is required.
  • Minimum age requirement of 18 years.
