Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Utility Locator to contribute to our mission of connecting communities. In this role, you will be responsible for the visual assessment of designated construction zones under the guidance of a supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately identify and mark underground utilities, ensuring all documentation is completed and photographs are taken for each locate.
  • Safely and efficiently locate infrastructure installed by the company.
  • Engage in various phases of underground construction, which may include:
    • Loading, driving, and delivering construction materials.
    • Hand digging using shovels and mechanical tools.
    • Installation and maintenance of underground telecommunications cabling.
    • Operating or working near heavy machinery.
    • Maintaining communication with crew members and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
  • Perform general construction tasks as directed by the Foreman or Supervisor.
  • Establish safety perimeters using signage and barriers, and manage traffic when necessary.
Qualifications:

Candidates must possess a valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record. A basic understanding of utility trucks and equipment operation is essential, along with the ability to use hand tools safely. Effective communication skills with customers and team members are required.

Work Environment:

Regular attendance is crucial for this position, with potential requirements for overtime, weekend work, or on-call duties as needed to complete tasks.
