Job Overview

OBJECTIVE AND SCOPE:

The individual in this role will be accountable for overseeing the receiving, storage, dispatch, and inventory management of products in alignment with the company's quality, service, and cost objectives. This position involves coaching, inspiring, and directing warehouse teams to achieve and surpass set targets through effective communication, training, and the implementation of process enhancements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs daily operations for assigned teams to ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory standards in line with established company policies while maximizing productivity. Responsibilities include coordinating and supervising:
    • The unloading of incoming shipments.
    • The systematic stacking and storage of products.
    • The preparation and loading of outgoing shipments.
    • The maintenance of various records, files, and reports.
  • Supervises the handling of goods and the administrative functions of warehouse teams to ensure customer requirements are met efficiently.
  • Guarantees that inbound and outbound shipments managed by assigned teams are accurate and undamaged.
  • Conducts operations in compliance with Distribution Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), ensuring teams follow these guidelines while meeting established objectives.
  • Provides training and mentorship to both new and existing team members regarding company SOPs, safety protocols, and other essential requirements. Motivates staff using effective techniques to achieve optimal efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensures the safe and efficient operation of all materials handling equipment, providing updates and training as necessary.
  • Maintains adequate staffing levels by ensuring work schedules are correctly implemented and effectively assigned.
  • Conducts operations in a manner that prioritizes safety and complies with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) standards, including maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Utilizes radio frequency equipment for various functions as required.
  • Additional responsibilities may include:
    • Completing all necessary documentation and reports accurately and promptly.
    • Ensuring inventory integrity and assisting in physical inventory counts.
    • Participating in warehouse meetings and conveying relevant information to warehouse teams.
    • Acting as a liaison between team members and management.
    • Collaborating with Operations Management, Traffic, Customer Service, clients, and employees.
    • Handling assignments that require significant judgment and initiative, understanding the implications of work, and recommending solutions.
    • Determining methods and procedures for new assignments.
    • Escalating complex issues to supervisors as necessary.
    • Assisting with various projects as directed by the immediate supervisor.
    • Performing other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

EDUCATION:

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • A minimum of 4 to 6 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Experience with warehouse operations and materials handling equipment is essential.
  • Demonstrates strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
  • Proven capability to lead, train, and motivate a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are required.
  • Familiarity with inventory management and personal computers is advantageous.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
