Job Summary

The Warehouse Foreman is responsible for overseeing and directing the location's warehousing function, including receiving, stocking, load building, customer service, and deliveries. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to ensure efficient and safe operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the receiving and stocking of merchandise, ensuring accurate and efficient counting, documentation, and storage.
  • Coordinate the safe and efficient handling of goods by employees operating forklifts or other machinery, ensuring proper training and certification.
  • Conduct periodic inventory checks, prepare merchandise orders, and maintain record-keeping systems to ensure timely access to current stock information.
  • Assign yard or warehouse workers to assemble and load merchandise in customer vehicles, ensuring correct load building.
  • Perform similar work as other warehouse employees and ensure warehouse areas are well-organized, kept neat and clean, and scraps and warehouse debris are appropriately recycled or disposed.
  • Understand and observe all safety procedures and practices, overseeing the activities of other employees to prevent injury to self or coworkers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and four (4) years of experience performing and coordinating yard or warehousing activities.
  • Working knowledge of yard and product activities, including component or materials weights and methods of loading.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate work processes to maintain and increase manpower and equipment efficiency.
  • Advanced knowledge of operation and handling of all machinery and equipment used in the yard.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
