The RoleWe are seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our HVAC and Plumbing & Fire Protection departments in our New York office. As an entry-level role, this position offers a wide breadth of project types, varying in size, duration, and complexity. You will have the opportunity to professionally develop through our JB&B University training program and work closely with senior leaders on client projects.
Responsibilities- Complete specific tasks on fit-out/base building/infrastructure upgrades, including assembling riser diagrams, schedules, and floor plans.
- Assist in the planning and coordination of routing of major distribution, main equipment rooms, closets, shafts, and risers.
- Review shop drawings, perform site visits, and punch-lists under supervision of senior team members to verify that designs are being implemented accurately.
- Design the distribution, recirculation, and exhaust of HVAC systems in a facility, or distribution of water, gas, and waste systems in a facility.
- Design facility/plant utilities such as chilled water, heating water, plant steam, and condensate, or laying out the sprinkler systems and performing basic calculations for pipe sizing, design densities, and pump horsepower.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
- 0-1 years of MEP design engineering experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
- Demonstrated success collaborating in a team environment.
- Basic understanding of design software tools, Revit and AutoCAD preferred.
