SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that all consumer loans are accurately entered into the loan management system, adhering to departmental guidelines and maintaining high standards of accuracy and control.
This position also serves as the initial point of contact for retail branches regarding customer inquiries or issues, requiring thorough research, processing, and effective communication of results to either the customer or branch staff.
Daily payment processing received through mail via branch capture is a key duty, including identifying exceptions and maintaining necessary proof documents for the mandated retention period. Additionally, the role involves the meticulous organization and security of loan vault documents, including those designated for off-site storage.ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform precise data entry for various consumer loan types, which encompass residential mortgages, HELOCs, unsecured loans, Instalines, closed-end seconds, construction loans, and both indirect and direct auto loans, either manually or through extraction processes.
Ensure that loans submitted for entry are balanced between funding and input, confirming that all general ledgers are accurately credited or debited.
Maintain key documentation, including the identification and system tracking of real estate loans located in flood-prone areas.Process all mail payments for various loan types, including commercial loans, through branch capture on a daily basis.
Balance and retain proof documents, including checks and coupon/statement copies, for the required 90-day period.Set up data entry for all ACH and AFT transactions received from branches for consumer loans.
Act as the primary liaison with retail branches and customers for basic inquiries and resolutions related to loan payments, late charge waivers, interest calculations, billing notices, and other routine information.
Conduct non-exception file maintenance and transactions, including late charge waivers and payment due date changes.Perform SOX reviews for loans entered by other departmental staff to validate key financial, regulatory, and compliance data, while notifying management of any trends or patterns related to data input or origination staff issues.
Maintain SOX documentation in accordance with departmental procedures.Ensure that file maintenance is completed in accordance with source documents, is valid, and is performed by staff with the appropriate authority.
Review documents to confirm that the Bank holds a valid lien position for titled consumer loans across direct and indirect origination channels, updating tracking through the system and notifying the relevant department if documents are not received within the required timeframe.
Review electronic titles and assess daily incoming e-titles.Utilize system-generated information to provide quotes and process payoffs for consumer auto loans.
Monitor departmental tickers.
Review loans with low principal balances for potential payoff and customer notification.
Assist in preparing satisfactions for loans that have been paid in full.
Organize and maintain the loan vault in a structured and secure manner. Complete all mandatory and elective training, including BSA and Anti-Money Laundering procedures.
Ensure compliance with all relevant rules and regulations.Regular and predictable attendance is an essential requirement of this position. Complete all other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
A high school diploma or GED is required, along with a minimum of three years of experience with loan documents in a lending or loan servicing environment, demonstrating the ability to read and interpret loan documents.
Knowledge and understanding of lending and servicing regulatory and compliance guidelines are essential.Familiarity with lien titling, including exposure to electronic titles and UCCs, is required.
Understanding of interest accrual methods for all loan types is necessary.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment are crucial.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.Team-oriented individuals with a demonstrated willingness to assist other departmental staff during peak workflow will thrive in this role.
