Insurance Follow Up Representative Job Description

MedCycle Management is seeking a highly skilled Insurance Follow Up Representative to join our team. As a key member of our patient financial services department, you will play a critical role in resolving outstanding insurance balances and ensuring timely payment from insurance companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate proactive measures to resolve accounts in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Respond promptly and accurately to all incoming correspondence and inquiries from insurance companies and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families to resolve account issues.
  • Develop and implement action plans to resolve accounts and improve cash flow.
  • Review EOBs to ensure accurate and timely resolution of accounts.
  • Collaborate with the patient financial services team to ensure seamless communication and resolution of account issues.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research and resolve complex account issues.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with one to three years of experience in patient financial services or a related field.
  • Medical background with experience in patient financial services is preferred.
  • Previous experience in insurance billing and follow up is also preferred.
