Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Hotel Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Highgate Hotels. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel facilities, including performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting equipment issues, and collaborating with other departments to resolve problems.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairs to hotel air conditioning systems, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on all equipment, including boilers, chillers, and HVAC systems.
  • Test and record readings on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Replace and program televisions, light switches, receptacles, and light bulbs as needed.
  • Perform furniture repair and replacement, as well as repair and maintenance of pumps and plumbing fixtures.
  • Understand and apply blueprints and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Assist in supervising other engineering staff members and scheduling preventive maintenance tasks.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or one year of experience in a hotel or related field required.
  • At least two years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • Trade school and/or College course work in a related field preferred.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects in excess of 100 pounds occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds constantly.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
