Job Title:
Certified Automotive Service Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:
An Automotive Service Specialist, commonly referred to as a Service Technician, is responsible for the maintenance, inspection, and repair of vehicles in our service department.

This role involves providing precise information to the service manager and advisors regarding vehicles processed through our facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:


Perform vehicle repairs, multi-point inspections, and maintenance tasks as specified on repair orders with efficiency and precision, adhering to dealership and manufacturer standards.

Conduct system diagnostics and comprehensive automotive troubleshooting and testing.
Maintain regular communication with the parts department and service advisors to effectively manage workflow and customer interactions.
Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs as authorized by customers.
Make suitable recommendations to ensure the safety and reliability of customer vehicles.
Document all work performed on each vehicle in the repair order.
Maintain an inventory of standard technician tools not typically tracked by the service department.
Stay informed about factory technical bulletins and participate in factory-sponsored training sessions as required.
Test drive vehicles to ensure quality repairs as necessary.
Communicate directly with service advisors regarding the status of service work.
Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
Deliver efficient and accurate work in line with dealership and manufacturer standards.
Continuously update knowledge of new technical information and techniques.
Attend training courses as requested by the service manager.
May be asked to mentor or train other staff members as needed.
May be required to interact with customers, if authorized by a supervisor.
Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner.
Perform other job-related responsibilities as assigned.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company standards.
Keep the shop area organized, safe, and clean.
Arrive at work punctually and complete the required shift.
Follow supervisor instructions.
Engage effectively with colleagues.
Receive feedback from supervisors positively.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To excel in this role, candidates must successfully perform each essential duty. The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
Experience in related job duties; a minimum of 2 years as an automotive technician is preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge in automotive service areas.
Additional certifications may be necessary, such as ASE Certification.
A-level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical, and Engine Repair.
Extensive knowledge of new vehicle technologies.
A proactive and hardworking presence in a team setting.
Basic computer proficiency.
A positive, friendly demeanor with a strong customer service focus.
Ability to collaborate effectively and operate electronic diagnostic tools.
Capacity to learn modern technology, repair, and service procedures and specifications.

EDUCATION:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. See qualifications above for further education requirements.
