Academic Advisor

Stony Brook University is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Advisor to join our team in the Division of Undergraduate Education. As an Academic Advisor, you will play a critical role in supporting the academic success and personal growth of our students.

• Provide academic advising to undergraduate students, including individual and group advising sessions, to help them achieve their academic goals.
• Develop and implement academic advising strategies to promote student success and retention.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure a seamless student experience.
• Participate in the planning and implementation of academic programs and services, including orientation and registration.
• Develop and maintain relationships with students, faculty, and staff to promote a positive and inclusive campus environment.

• Masters degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in academic advising or a related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
