Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Linux Systems Administrator to oversee system administration and support requirements for Military Sealift Command (MSC) fleet in Pensacola, FL. The successful candidate will perform system synchronization of local development VMs, assist with delivery, patching, and maintenance of test and operational RHEL systems, and learn and implement new tools as they become relevant in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform system synchronization of local development VMs
  • Assist with delivery, patching, and maintenance of test and operational RHEL systems
  • Learn and implement new tools as they become relevant in the industry
  • Create and execute integration and system tests and document test procedures
  • Troubleshoot software system issues
  • Work as an effective team member across multiple disciplines (systems, networking, configuration management, & test engineering)
  • Work in a dynamic, fast-paced, & sometimes pressured environment
Requirements:
  • Security Clearance Level: Secret clearance
  • Experience: 5+ years
  • Certifications: IAT Level II Certification. Obtain a Linux Operating System certification (Linux+, etc.) within 6 months from hire date.
  • Education: BA/BS Degree or experience in lieu of degree.
  • Skills: Proficiency working in a Red Hat Linux Server environment. Knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards for Linux system administration and accreditation. Experience applying DoD STIG checklists to Linux systems and ensuring compliance with DoD security mandates.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with log analysis tools, such as Graylog
  • Experience with IT infrastructure management tools, such as RedHat Satellite
  • Experience with system automation tools, such as Ansible
  • Experience with Apache HTTP Server
  • Experience with Storage Area Networks (SAN)
  • Experience with databases (examples: Oracle, Sybase, MySQL, etc.)
  • Experience administering software configuration management tools (examples: GIT, CVS, SVN, etc.)
  • Experience with VMWare ESXi
