Job Summary

HDR is seeking a highly skilled Resident Engineer to join our New York City Water group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing construction management, supervision, and leadership for infrastructure projects in the 5 boroughs of NYC.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise construction contractors to ensure timely and quality execution of projects.
  • Coordinate and direct all phases of construction inspection on water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Review and process payment documents, certify quantities, and prepare payment packages.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are enforced and document performance-related activities.
  • Monitor contractor safety programs and issue change orders as necessary.

Requirements

  • 10 years of relevant construction management experience in infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with NYCDEP procedures and processes.
  • Prior experience as Resident Engineer managing heavy infrastructure projects.
  • Proven leadership skills and excellent communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or closely related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and web-based document collaboration software.
