About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Labor and Employment Law Attorney. You will work closely with our labor and employment law attorneys and labor relations and human resources professionals to provide legal advice and counsel to the Sempra companies regarding all aspects of the employment relationship and compliance with applicable laws.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and counsel to the Sempra companies on labor and employment law matters.
  • Represent the Sempra companies in labor arbitrations and agency proceedings.
  • Manage outside counsel in employment litigation matters.
  • Counsel human resources and labor relations personnel on all aspects of labor and employment law.
  • Draft and revise employment policies and procedures.
  • Advise on CBA interpretations and negotiations.
  • Handle labor arbitrations and respond to NLRB charges.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 7+ years of relevant law firm or in-house experience working on complex Labor & Employment Law.
  • A JD (Juris Doctor) and a bachelor's degree.
  • Membership in good standing of the California bar.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this role is estimated to be between $180,700.00 and $301,800.00 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. You will also be eligible for an annual performance-based incentive (bonus) and other merit-based recognition. Sempra Energy offers a competitive total rewards package, including health and welfare benefits, retirement benefits, life insurance, paid time off, and other company offerings such as tuition reimbursement, paid parental leave, and employee assistance programs.

Location

This role will be based in Los Angeles or San Diego, with occasional travel to client locations within Southern California.
