Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop trial plans and ensure raw materials are readily available and in accordance with the plant Chemical Approval Process.
  • Conduct pre-trial reviews and assess the condition of the line before conducting trials.
  • Prepare guidance for shifts prior to trials and ensure the line is ready to go shortly after shift change.
  • Conduct trials, capture line conditions, and prepare summaries of the trials.
  • Collaborate with sales teams on new products and conduct market sample analysis.
  • Develop strategies to address slow-moving and obsolete resin/packaging material inventories.
  • Evaluate daily performance against standards and review PM programs with the Maintenance Manager.
  • Identify opportunities for optimal output and specify equipment, obtain pricing, and prepare CapEx requests.
  • Consult with OEMs on equipment issues and validate training programs.
  • Support maintenance in troubleshooting equipment issues and assess new technologies.
  • Set yearly KPIs for the technical unit and direct reports with HR.
  • Prepare and conduct evaluation and performance reviews for direct reports.
  • Implement 5S practices within the technical unit offices and follow up on management system audits.
Requirements:
  • BS in plastics engineering, materials engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced Excel user with strong mechanical and technical background.
  • Minimum 10 years of manufacturing experience in a Blown Film coextrusion production facility.
  • Hands-on plastics manufacturing experience in a known lean organization.
  • Self-starter with a natural bias for action and a focus on results, delivery, and customer service.
  • Unwavering integrity and ethics, consistent mindset of continuous improvement and problem-solving.
  • Self-motivated and execution-oriented leader with a passion for winning.
  • Excellent communicator with strong influencing skills and natural collaborative leader and team-builder.
  • Change agent with a high degree of personal accountability and detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
