Role Summary:
The Assistant Director of Nursing plays a crucial role in overseeing the health and wellness of residents within the community, working closely with the Director of Nursing. This position is responsible for creating and managing the personal care staff schedule, ensuring adequate coverage in response to staffing needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with the Director of Nursing to fulfill assigned duties.
- Works alongside the Staffing Coordinator to address staffing requirements effectively.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations regarding clinical care.
- Partners with the Director of Nursing and team members to assess and maintain the health and safety of residents and staff.
- Identifies and addresses the ongoing needs of residents through comprehensive assessments and service planning.
- Engages with other department coordinators to evaluate and discuss changes in care levels and service requirements.
- Maintains open communication with residents' families regarding any changes in care or health issues.
- Assists in the administration of medications and treatments, adhering to state regulations.
- Ensures confidentiality of all resident information, including medication records.
- Supports residents in maintaining their independence while promoting dignity and safety.
- Reports any resident or family concerns to the Director of Health Care promptly.
- Participates in the development and regular updates of Service Plans.
- Responds to accidents and incidents immediately, completing necessary reports.
- Addresses unsafe conditions or equipment without delay.
- Takes immediate action regarding occupational exposures to hazardous materials.
Qualifications:
- Current state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations.
- Experience in assisted living, home health, or long-term care settings.
- Preferred: Two years of experience as a Licensed Nurse.
- Preferred: One year of nursing management experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in assessment skills, medication administration, and triage.
