The Transplant and Cellular Therapy (TCT) Clinic at St. David's South Austin Medical Center provides care for adults facing blood cancers and hematologic disorders in an outpatient setting.
In collaboration with Sarah Cannon, the Cancer Institute of HCA Healthcare, we proudly stand as the only FACT accredited facility in the Austin area.
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the TCT Clinic, you will be responsible for the care of patients undergoing blood and marrow transplants, as well as those with hematologic and oncologic conditions.
Common diagnoses include acute leukemia, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and multiple myeloma.
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will employ nursing processes to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- You will assess age-related factors in the evaluation, care, and treatment of oncology patients.
- You will incorporate principles of death and dying when caring for terminally ill oncology patients.
- You will offer emotional, spiritual, religious, and cultural support to patients and their families.
- You will apply oncology nursing principles in your practice.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferred.
- Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If Compact License, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as per St. David's Healthcare policy.
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Provider certification – preferred.
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification – preferred.
