Job Summary:

The Monitor/Aide is responsible for providing operational oversight and assisting drivers in the safe operation of routes. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage high levels of stress.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor the welfare of passengers while in route and communicate any behavior problems or conditions of various stops with the driver.
  • Assist in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus and assist students in the loading and unloading process.
  • Cooperate and communicate with school personnel, students, and parents, and attend all safety and training meetings.
  • Conduct emergency evacuations from the bus, including the use of exiting by emergency door, and open and close service doors and move up and down steps multiple times daily.
  • Clean the inside of the bus and assist the driver when necessary to safely direct the vehicle backwards.
Requirements:
  • Good verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Early morning availability and the ability to manage high levels of stress.
  • Judgement/problem solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
