Marine Maintenance Technician

AMAK Towing Co. Inc. is seeking a dedicated Marine Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is based in Ketchikan, Alaska, and is a full-time salaried position reporting directly to the Port Engineer and General Manager.
Key Responsibilities:The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Conducting maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on various marine systems, including diesel propulsion, electrical generation, fuel systems, hydraulics, and plumbing.
- Performing general maintenance tasks such as engine adjustments, oil changes, and corrosion control.
- Assisting with vessel inspections and repairs, including pilot vessel haul-outs.
- Monitoring inventory levels of spare parts and consumables both onboard and in storage.
- Collaborating with external vendors and technicians during inspections.
- Completing additional tasks as assigned.
This position requires on-call availability for vessel repairs outside of regular working hours, including weekends and holidays, often with short notice. Occasional travel to remote locations may be necessary for troubleshooting and maintenance support.
Compensation and Benefits:The salary for this position is competitive, with a range of $65,000 to $95,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include:

A minimum of 3 years of experience in diesel engine repair is preferred. Candidates must be motivated, capable of working independently, and skilled in multitasking across various projects.
Relocation:Applicants must be willing to relocate to Ketchikan, AK, prior to commencing work.
