Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Springboard Hospitality is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for maintaining the hotel's assets through ongoing preventative maintenance programs and ensuring that all mechanical systems are operating in accordance with Springboard Hospitality standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Respond to and handle guest requests in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and necessary repairs on all hotel equipment, including kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical, and guest rooms.
  • Maintain rooms in optimal operating condition by performing repairs as needed.
  • Repair televisions, phones, clock radios, and other equipment.
  • Replace or repair damaged bathroom/kitchen fixtures and execute general plumbing as needed.
  • Maintain the overall appearance of the room.
  • Repair and maintain rooms heating/ventilating/air conditioning systems.
  • Use power and hand tools regularly in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Understand and implement the Room Preventative Maintenance Program.
  • Prepare preventative maintenance carts for use each day.
  • Perform preventative maintenance throughout the hotel.
  • Maintain the condition of hotel lobbies and public areas.
  • Repair furniture and decorations as necessary.
  • Repair carpet, tile, and laminates as necessary.
  • Repair and maintain laundry/housekeeping equipment.
  • Repair/replace windows and mirrors.
  • Maintain exterior of buildings and grounds as necessary.
  • Maintain operating equipment in working condition by performing routine equipment checks and repairs.
  • Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.
  • Maintain and assist in the cleanliness of maintenance work areas.
  • Assist in the maintenance and cleaning of pool and spas.
  • Handle master sets of keys in accordance with Springboard Hospitality standards.
  • Respond to all emergency situations, including fire alarms, bomb threats, disasters, and power failures.
  • Notify the appropriate authorities.
  • Make rounds of the hotel property to ensure everything is in working order.
  • Complete maintenance requests, take equipment and meter readings, and maintain logs.
  • Document all parts used and parts needed to be purchased.
  • Handle elevator breakdowns.
  • Report any unsafe conditions to the Director of Engineering/Chief Engineer.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in building maintenance.
  • Special skills and experience in a construction trade, such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or HVAC.
  • Ability to handle building mechanical systems and controls, electrical systems, energy management, interior finishes, and products.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft Office and web analytics tools.
  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all property safety and security procedures.
