The Role:

Our facility is seeking a Automation Systems Technician. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on expertise with control panels, wiring, and end-devices such as valves and sensors. Responsibilities include managing program downloads, initiating startups, and troubleshooting existing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosing and reporting necessary modifications to current systems on the production floor (both hardware and software).
  • Testing newly constructed systems.
  • Resolving issues at customer locations.
  • Maintaining documentation.
  • Configuring spare parts for dispatch to customer sites.
  • Providing leadership and mentorship to fellow team members.
  • Participating in multi-functional meetings as a representative of the team.
  • Working effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Performing any additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical diploma is advantageous.
  • Certification as an electrician or electrical technician is a plus.
  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in hands-on troubleshooting of electrical and electronic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering design documentation.
  • Experience with control systems documentation is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capability to correlate design specifications with control system functionality.
