Job Title: Audiologist

Job Summary: We are seeking an Audiologist to join our team at the Detroit Public Schools Community District. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a full spectrum of hearing services to all children within the district and its catchment areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, manage, and treat hearing and balance problems in children.
  • Provide diagnostic and support services to infants, children, and students with hearing loss.
  • Collaborate with staff and implement district initiatives to improve student outcomes.
  • Develop and modify goals, objectives, materials, and activities to meet the needs, interests, and abilities of students.
  • Evaluate the function of hearing aids and FM units in relation to student needs and hearing loss.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with staff, students, parents, and agencies.

Requirements:

  • Master's or doctorate degree in Audiology (AuD).
  • Experience in pediatric audiology.
  • Experience in management and auditory training techniques.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of basic technological and proficiency in software related to Special Education and Audiological Services.
  • ASHA certification/clinical competence (CCC-A).
  • Michigan State Licensure for Audiology.
