Library Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Library Associate 2 to join our team at Library Systems & Services LLC. As a key member of our library staff, you will provide exceptional customer service, support library operations, and contribute to the development of library programs and services.

• Provide welcoming and inclusive customer service to a diverse population of library patrons
• Assist patrons with locating materials, using computers, and explaining procedures
• Check in and process library materials as necessary
• Accept and process fines, fees, or other payments
• Provide information regarding programs, events, and conference rooms
• Mail library materials as necessary for patron homebound programs
• Shelve library materials
• Address or escalate patron conduct or safety issues to appropriate management
• Follow all legal and policy requirements related to patron privacy and custodianship of patron records

• High School Diploma or GED
• Two years of library experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of library systems and databases preferred
• Ability to work a regular schedule that may include a combination of days, evenings, and weekends
• Excellent customer service skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal

Must be able to frequently move from place to place within the location; file and retrieve books and other items on high shelves; lift, push/pull, hold/carry of items weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 35 pounds of heavy boxes, books, and equipment; work in confined spaces; walk; bend; stoop; reach; and climb.

Part-time, 20 hours per week. Pay: $16 per hour.
