Key Responsibilities
  • Retrieve and file patient charts in a timely and efficient manner
  • Respond to internal and external requests for information, providing accurate and professional responses
  • Compile medical record information from internal and external sources for ongoing patient care
  • Maintain accurate production records and logs as required by department and facility needs
  • Protect patient confidentiality and maintain the integrity of medical records
Requirements
  • Graduate from a one or two-year accredited Medical Secretary Program or previous medical record experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as various medical specialties practiced throughout the facility
  • Successful completion of data entry, medical terminology, and general clerical standards
