Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Compensation: Starting at 15.00 USD per hour

Assist senior teaching staff in executing educational and ancillary tasks. Engage with children and families in a manner consistent with the roles of higher-level educators under the supervision of the Education Coordinator.

  • Support the setup of classroom environments and educational materials.
  • Ensure the upkeep of the classroom, including equipment and resources.
  • Participate in meal service and nutritional support during mealtimes with children.
  • Provide oversight and assistance with cleanup as directed by the immediate supervisor.
  • Take on responsibilities under the mentorship of senior educators in implementing educational programs.
  • Exemplify a strong work ethic for both parents and colleagues.
  • Encourage parental involvement through classroom participation and observation.
  • Welcome children and parents upon arrival and assist with transportation needs.
  • Collaborate closely with senior educators to fulfill tasks as agreed upon during planning sessions.
  • Engage in mealtime activities with children, offering supervision and guidance, and assist with cleanup.
  • Perform related duties as required to support the agency's mission in serving children and families.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

In the Early Head Start program, serve as a substitute for educational staff during breaks, planning meetings, and absences. Perform related duties as needed to support the agency's services for children and families.

QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma or GED is required. To excel in this role, an individual must successfully fulfill each essential duty. The qualifications listed below represent the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Access to reliable transportation and the ability to travel to various sites as needed is required. Preference will be given to local residents.
