Overview
The Hispanic Technology Executive Council is seeking a skilled and proactive Senior Credit Officer to enhance our Commercial Banking Solutions division. This role is integral to our expanding operations, focusing on mid-sized to larger enterprises with annual revenues ranging from $100 million to $3 billion. The successful candidate will be part of a dedicated team within our Commercial Lending Management (CLM) unit, which is pivotal in delivering tailored financial solutions to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the comprehensive lending process for designated industry sectors and client portfolios.
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of the assigned portfolio to provide well-supported credit analyses that align with business goals while managing risk effectively.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and actively work to minimize credit losses within the portfolio.
- Collaborate with Relationship Managers and Independent Risk teams to assess credit appetite and identify potential issues early in the process.
- Lead the analysis and workflow of credit requests, including new client assessments, amendments, and annual reviews.
- Conduct regular financial reviews of existing clients to ensure adherence to loan covenants and address any emerging concerns.
- Supervise the loan documentation process, ensuring all terms are accurately reflected in closing documents.
- Engage with clients to foster relationships and identify new business opportunities in partnership with Relationship Managers.
- Mentor junior staff, fostering their development into effective credit professionals.
- Propose enhancements to existing processes to improve efficiency and control measures.
Qualifications
- A seasoned credit underwriting professional with extensive experience in commercial lending.
- Minimum of 10 years in credit underwriting, portfolio management, or risk management within a multinational financial services environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and their application in credit assessments.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to identify potential credit issues and develop strategies for resolution.
- Proficient in financial analysis tools and software.
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees and certifications are advantageous.
