Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pool Ambassador & Lifeguard to join our team at The Greenwich Hotel. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service, ensuring the safety and well-being of our guests, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our pool and facility areas.

Responsibilities:
  • Guest Services:
    • Provide property and facility information to guests, educating them on our offerings and services.
    • Connect with each guest by providing anticipatory service, guest recognition, and offering 5-Star service at all times.
    • Work closely with Spa Concierge & Attendant to ensure a well-rounded guest journey occurs throughout the department.
    • Utilize hotel/spa platforms to assist with preference documentations, glitch occurrences, or scheduling services.
    • Ensure that the facilities remain tranquil, educating guests on safety rules and family hours as needed.
    • Track guest preferences and special requests, communicating them to Spa Concierge Team and Management as needed.
    • Offer welcoming and informative tours of spa facilities to guests.
    • Delight guests by providing tea, juice, or sake service to guests when appropriate.
  • Pool Facility:
    • Maintain that pool clarity, temperature, and water chemicals are at proper level.
    • Ensure the safety and well-being of guests enjoying pool and/or gym, particular attention to those in the water as well as the possibility of slips and falls.
    • Keep floors dry at all times to prevent a fall.
    • Ensure pool area is in compliance with City of New York pool safety law.
    • Attend all safety courses within the hotel and educate peers accordingly.
    • Inspect all facility spaces and address in-the-moment needs.
    • Knowledge of safety hazards and necessary safety precautions sufficient to establish a safe work environment for self and others.
    • Work hand in hand with attendants to maintain cleanliness of pool deck and facilities, including straightening lounge areas, removing towels, and trash if needed.
  • Fitness Facility:
    • Understand how to use each piece of equipment in the gym.
    • Report equipment issues to engineering/Spa Desk.
    • Assist with reserving Fitness Classes when able.
    Requirements:
    • Lifeguard Certification.
    • First Aid and CPR Certification.
    • Strong Interpersonal skills and discretion to interact with high-profile clientele.
    • Upbeat personality, natural smile, positive, and friendly demeanor.
    • Excellent verbal communication skills.
    • High-end or luxury experience preferred.
    • Must have a flexible schedule to work AM & PM shifts, weekends, and holidays.
