Position Overview:
This is a pool position, and the start date will be determined by the availability of openings. We encourage interested candidates to submit their applications, as we will conduct interviews and maintain your candidacy until a position becomes available.

Employment Type:
This is a full-time role, with typical working hours from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm for the morning shift.

Evening Shift:
Available hours include 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm or 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm.

Flexibility in scheduling is essential due to the dynamic nature of our environment, and candidates should be prepared to work evenings and weekends as required. Adjustments to the schedule will be made to accommodate after-hours responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to uphold high standards of safety, cleanliness, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and adhere to a cleaning schedule that encompasses floors, whiteboards, waste receptacles, windows, furniture, equipment, restrooms, cafeteria, and communal areas.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of school premises, including sidewalks, driveways, parking areas, and recreational spaces.
  • Oversee cafeteria operations, including the cleaning and setup of dining areas for breakfast and lunch.
  • Conduct light-duty repairs and maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Prepare for campus events by performing necessary setups.
  • Supervise contractors engaged in non-routine maintenance and summer refresh projects.
  • Carry out pressure washing and other exterior cleaning tasks.
  • Repaint walls within classrooms and other areas of the building.
  • Assist with furniture movement in preparation for floor maintenance operations.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness in storage, supply, and maintenance areas.
  • Keep accurate inventory records and order supplies as necessary.

Safety Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the opening and closing of the building each day.
  • Follow established protocols for securing and safeguarding facilities.
  • Conduct daily checks to ensure all exit doors are operational and panic bolts function correctly during occupancy.
  • Remain vigilant regarding safety and security issues, promptly notifying administration of any concerns.
  • Operate equipment in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Inspect machines and equipment for safety and operational efficiency.
  • Report any major repairs or equipment failures to administration.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and techniques while performing job duties.
  • Correct unsafe conditions in the work area and report any unresolvable issues to a supervisor immediately.
  • Respond to emergencies to mitigate or prevent hazardous conditions.
  • Report emergencies to the Director of Operations.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma, GED, or Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency (preferred).
  • Prior cleaning experience (required).
  • Experience in building maintenance (preferred).

Required Skills:
  • Ability to comprehend and follow cleaning, maintenance, and safety instructions.
  • Proficiency in operating cleaning equipment and handling cleaning supplies safely.
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Familiarity with basic office, security, and technology equipment.
  • Capability to utilize standard custodial equipment with computerized displays and controls.

Equipment Utilized:
Burnisher, floor scrubber, auto-scrubber, wet-vac, vacuum, carpet dryer, carpet extractor, and trash compactor.

Working Conditions:
Frequent walking, standing, climbing, bending, and moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds). Potential exposure to various environmental conditions, including strong odors, dust, humidity, and temperature extremes. Frequent heavy lifting and carrying may occur, with moderate noise levels and potential interruptions.

Compensation:
The starting pay for this position is $15 per hour.
