Assistant for Outdoor Recreation Programs

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the management of Outdoor Venture Center (OVC) initiatives
- Oversee student personnel including recruitment, training, and performance assessment
- Work in partnership with campus stakeholders to improve offerings
- Plan and execute outdoor recreation activities
- Operate University vehicles for program-related tasks
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
- Background in diverse outdoor pursuits
- Currently enrolled in a degree program at the University of Nebraska at Omaha
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory capabilities
- Wilderness First Aid and CPR/AED certifications (or commitment to obtain within 6 months)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional first aid certifications
- Climbing instructor credentials
- Previous experience in recreation leadership
- Experience in staff development and event coordination
Physical Requirements:
This position entails various physical activities including sitting, standing, hiking, climbing, and swimming on uneven terrain. Candidates must possess the ability to see, hear, speak, and utilize hands effectively.
