Key Responsibilities

- Remain knowledgeable about market dynamics, interest rates, and mortgage offerings to provide clients with timely and relevant insights.

- Engage with clients to assess their mortgage requirements and financial circumstances, offering expert guidance on available loan options and terms.
- Assist clients in the completion of loan applications, ensuring all necessary documentation is accurate and complete.
- Evaluate applicants' financial profiles, credit histories, and other pertinent information to assess loan eligibility.
- Build and nurture relationships with real estate professionals, builders, and other referral sources to foster new business opportunities.
- Participate in marketing initiatives to promote mortgage products and services, including attending networking functions and delivering presentations.
- Cross-sell additional bank products and services to enhance client relationships.
- Maintain ongoing communication with applicants throughout the loan process to ensure a timely and efficient transaction, addressing inquiries and clarifying documentation.
- Collaborate closely with Loan Processing and Underwriting teams to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of conditions.
- Contribute to the enhancement of departmental workflows to improve efficiency, both independently and collaboratively.
- Engage in continuous personal development and training.
- Work cooperatively with colleagues across the department and organization, fostering a positive and proactive team environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in retail mortgage origination. A valid Mortgage Loan Origination (MLO) license is required in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- In-depth knowledge of mortgage products, the loan origination process, and secondary market underwriting criteria, with the ability to accurately analyze financial data, including income calculations for self-employed individuals.
- Proficient in AUS underwriting tools (DU/LP) and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Encompass 360 is advantageous.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
- Sales-driven with a talent for building and maintaining relationships.
- Understanding of federal and state mortgage regulations.
- Able to perform effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Physical Requirements
- Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
