Job Overview

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

The Loan Processor III plays a crucial role in evaluating necessary documentation and ensuring the submitted loan packages are complete and accurate. This position collaborates closely with Loan Officers, Loan Assistants, Audit, and Operations, as well as various departments within Capital Community Bank. Exceptional communication, writing, and time management skills are essential for success in this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the preparation and examination of all loan documentation related to loans and collateral.
  • Verify the credit reports of Borrowers and Guarantors.
  • Assess collateral:
    • Confirm real estate appraisals to ensure the correct address aligns with other real estate documents.
    • Review Title Commitments, checking address, ownership, outstanding taxes, lien positions, etc.
    • Evaluate flood determinations to confirm properties are not located in flood zones.
    • Conduct UCC Pre-Searches for accuracy in spelling and punctuation.
    • Examine Vehicle Titles to verify ownership and ensure no other liens exist. If a lien is present, confirm that payment to the other institution will be made.
    • Ensure all other collateral complies with the bank's policies.
  • Pre and post loan closing duties:
    • Review the presentation and loan documentation checklist.
    • Document loan information in LaserPro with the required documents.
    • Ensure accuracy of loan documents before forwarding them to the loan assistant and loan officer for final review.
    • Complete all necessary fields in Horizon, including collateral details.
    • File UCC in the appropriate state as required.
    • Process wire transfers.
    • Renew or terminate UCCs when necessary.
  • Reporting and Tickler items:
    • Enter Tickler items for loan and collateral matters.
  • Review unposted transactions daily, verifying fund allocations and making corrections as needed.
  • Exhibit effective and professional verbal and written communication skills, engaging with Loan Officers, Loan Assistants, and Bank Operations.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding all information obtained.
  • Actively participate in training programs to enhance and acquire additional knowledge and skills.
  • Represent Capital Community Bank in a manner that fosters and expands positive relationships with customers, prospects, and colleagues.
  • Contribute as a team member in managing and coordinating workflow.
  • Support the achievement of departmental and company objectives and goals.
  • Adhere to all Bank policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Compliance Responsibilities: - Support the Bank's adherence to all applicable federal and state laws and regulations.

  • Gain familiarity with all relevant federal and state banking rules and regulations concerning lending.
  • Comply with all applicable Bank policies and procedures.
  • Cooperate with banking regulators and auditors.

Interpersonal and Team Skills: - Develop and maintain a professional image and rapport with customers, the public, colleagues, regulators, auditors, and Bank management.

  • Exhibit a positive attitude and the ability to accept direction and constructive feedback.
  • Keep relevant parties informed of project status, challenges, and issues.
  • Negotiate and attempt to resolve conflicts related to projects or work assignments; communicate issues to management as necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred Skills/Experience -
    • Willingness to learn and a genuine curiosity about loan documentation and portfolio management.
    • Experience with bank loan and deposit systems is preferred.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Detail-oriented with strong analytical thinking abilities.
    • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a cohesive team.
  • Ability to meet bonding requirements for employment purposes.
